Comforting the nation

By the fourth week in January, most New Year’s resolutions have gone out of the window as the depressing reality of a long cold spell until summer arrives.   

Good job then, that we've launched a range of comforting and warming dishes, that you may well recognise from menus past, as well as exciting cocktails from today, January 3rd, to get us through the season. Check them out below and don't forget to book your table!

The ‘new’ additions to the menu have all featured on the menu previously, but are making a welcome comeback due to customer demand. 

Pennette Formaggi

Pennette Formaggi

Available as a starter, main or with nduja sausage, as an upgrade, the Pennette Formaggi (V) is back on the menu. Our take on Macaroni & Cheese sees a three cheese sauce combined with mozzarella and Gran Milano cheese. Baked with pennette pasta, garlic oil and black pepper and finished with fresh basil and another sprinkling of Gran Milano cheese. This is a truly indulgent dish, sure to cheer up a dull January day.

Barbacoa Romana

The summer favourite, celebrating the best of Brazilian barbecued beef, the Barbacoa Romana is once again on the menu. It features smoky pulled beef which has been marinated in chilli, lime and garlic, a spicy chipotle salsa, mozzarella and passata with a fresh finish of chopped tomato, red onion and fresh coriander all on top of the famous PizzaExpress Romana base.

Etna Romana

In a heated competition in the summer, the Etna Romana and the Rustichella Romana battled it out to be returned to the menu and the Rustichella won by a short lead, returning to the menu in the autumn. However, demand continued to rise for the Etna, so it’s now time for this spicy special to make its way back onto the menu for everyone to enjoy. The Etna Romana , named after the famous Italian volcano due to its fiery flavour with its combination of sweet roquito peppers, salty pancetta and hot, soft and spicy nduja.

Chocolate Fondant 'PizzaExpress'

The Chocolate Fondant 'PizzaExpress' (V) is making a return to the menu after disappearing over Christmas to make way for more festive desserts. This delightfully indulgent dessert is a rich and intense warm chocolate cake with a soft melting centre, served with vanilla gelato, topped with fresh mint and icing sugar. Baked in the oven, the centre melts as you tuck into this delightful dessert.

A creamy cocktail of Baileys and vodka combined with an espresso kick. A perfect boozy dessert alternative.

We angered a lot of you when we took this off the menu for Christmas! Well, it's back and better than ever.
