Training and development

When you join us, you’ll first have an induction period. You’ll spend time gaining an understanding of the business and getting to grips with your role and department. We’ll probably also give you some time in a restaurant, so you experience what we are about from the ground up. During the induction, you’ll meet key restaurant support and operational people, to start to build your network of contacts – and you’ll also complete some e-learning modules to complement your learning.

Ongoing training is provided to ensure all employees are kept up to date with new initiatives and procedures. This is delivered via our e-learning system, by 1-to-1 sessions or as a group session in team meetings.

Recruitment process

You can search for roles on the Careers section of our website. You should then apply online for any vacancy you want to be considered for. This will take you about 10-15 minutes.
After applying, the specific process depends on the role but the most common aspects are explained below. If your application is successful, you will normally be invited to take part in a 30 minute telephone interview, with a member of the recruitment team. If successful at that stage, you will be invited to a face-to-face assessment. The format of this is role specific, but will include a detailed interview.

You may also be asked to complete some online psychometric assessments – these can show us your preferred style of working and what motivates you in life, or they may focus on specific technical skills. These can be used to inform your initial career development meeting and ongoing training needs.

We like to look after our candidates. So after you’ve invested time completing the tests, we make sure you get a copy of the results to review at your leisure. We will email your results report, whether you get the job or not.

Finally, we will let you know our decision of course – usually within 5 working days.

Recruitment venues

Your face-to-face assessment venue depends on what role you apply for and where the role is based. Our main support office is in London. We also have another London office in Uxbridge, where some of our Finance, I.T. and Loss Prevention departments are situated. Our in-house bakery, that makes the delicious dough for all of our sites, is based in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Also, if you don’t bring these documents with you to your assessment, we will have to rearrange it to a later date.
