When PizzaExpress first opened in 1965, the first day's takings came to £3. As the British public's taste for pizza evolved, so did the PizzaExpress experience. Rustic styling got a shot of sophistication. Plastic cutlery soon gave way to the real thing. Square pizzas became round, and round menus became square. But for over 40 years, the passion for real Italian pizza hasn't wavered.
